GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro police say a missing 2-year-old boy and his mother, who has medical and cognitive impairments, have been found safe.

Lawrence Jamal "Boogie" Heath had last been seen with his mother, Lakesha Heath, in the 100 block of Swan Street in Goldsboro on Wednesday, police said.

Police issued an alert for them early Thursday and said they considered Lawrence to be missing and endangered. Heath is his biological mother but does not have custody due to her impairments, police said.

Police said Heath came home with her son later Thursday. Both were safe and sound.
