Missing Fayetteville woman found safe

A 56-year-old Fayetteville woman who had been missing since September was found safe in Virginia, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 56-year-old Fayetteville woman who had been missing since September was found safe in Virginia, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Wilma Edwards, who also goes by Miss Betty, was found at a shelter in Henrico County, Virginia, spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said Friday. Her family has been notified and is making arrangement to bring her home.

Edwards had last been seen leaving her Linwood Road home on Sept. 19. She was without medication that she needs.
