Manteo man charged with murder in fatal shooting
A 48-year-old Manteo man was charged with murder early Friday in connection with a fatal shooting on Roanoke Island, the Dare County Sheriff's Office said.

MANTEO, N.C. — A 48-year-old Manteo man was charged with murder early Friday in connection with a fatal shooting on Roanoke Island, the Dare County Sheriff's Office said.
Officers responding to a call on Fernando Street early Friday discovered Edgar Govan and 26-year-old Steven Craig Stewart, who had been shot.
Stewart was taken to The Outer Banks Hospital, where he later died.
Govan, of 708 Fernando St., was being held in the Dare County jail Friday morning under a $300,000 bond.
No other details about the shooting have been released.
