WILSON, N.C. — Wilson police say that a manhunt Thursday ended with the arrest of a man wanted for violating a domestic-violence protective order.

Sgt. John Slaughter said that Michael Scott Keeter, 48, ran during a traffic stop near the Wilson Country Club, off N.C. Highway 58, around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. The Wilson police force, Wilson County Sheriff's Office and state Highway Patrol joined in the search for Keeter.

He was found hiding in a shed behind his ex-wife's house around 5:30 a.m. Friday, Slaughter said.

He said that police were concerned because Keeter had violated a protective order numerous times.

Keeter was also charged with stalking, several counts of breaking and entering, and larceny of a motor vehicle.

He was placed in the Wilson County jail under a $615,000 secured bond. Police said that he will not be allowed to post bond until Sunday because of domestic violence protocols.
