Man with fake mustache robs Fayetteville bank

A man walked into the First Citizens Bank branch at 126 Broadfoot Ave. in Fayetteville at about 9:45 a.m., handed a teller a note demanding money and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police were searching for a man who robbed a Fayetteville bank Monday morning.

A man walked into the First Citizens Bank branch at 126 Broadfoot Ave. at about 9:45 a.m., handed a teller a note demanding money and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The robber is described as a light-skinned black man in his teens, about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7, with a slim build. Witnesses said he apparently painted on a fake mustache and goatee, and he had a tattoo of two teardrops under his right eye.

He was wearing a gray Detroit ball cap, a white shirt with gold lettering, light-colored jeans and black Converse shoes with white bottoms.

Police said they are investigating whether the man is linked to other recent bank robberies.
