RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — The man wanted in the murder of a 25-year-old Siler City man was found dead near U.S. Highway 421 in rural Randolph County, authorities said Tuesday.

Francisco Rivas Galves-Huezo, 21, who was charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon in the death of Esau Abraham Brenes, was found dead on Friday after deputies responded to a 911 call concerning unidentified remains.

Galves-Huezo was reported missing on Oct 24, the same day Brenes' remains were found near the edge of the wood line on Siler City Snow Camp Road, just outside Siler City limits, authorities said.

Brenes was last seen dropping off friends in his green Mini Cooper, according to family members.

An autopsy performed on Galves-Huezo revealed that he suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.

The ongoing investigation is a joint effort conducted by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, Siler City Police Department, Chatham County Sheriff's Office and the State Bureau of Investigation.
