Man wanted in drive-by shooting of Durham teen

— Durham police have named a suspect in a Sept. 25 drive-by shooting that injured a 17-year-old boy.

Rashad Lamont Brockington, 22, of Guess Road, is wanted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police said that the victim was walking near Rosedale Avenue and Gunter Street when shots were fired from two vehicles. The teen was treated at Duke University Hospital.

According to state Department of Correction records, Brockington was put on probation in August for drug charges. Brockington has also been convicted of selling drugs and intimidating witnesses, DOC records show.

    I know the perp. This is actually underachieving, as far as the life he has chosen. I would have guessed he'd have succeeded in killing someone by 19, not failed in the attempt at 22.

    Oh great. Another drug dealer back on the street that the police can't find. Hopefully, if he is caught this time, he will be put in prison where he belongs so that the people in Durham will know where he is, but I doubt it.
