TREVOSE, PA. — Pennsylvania authorities discovered couple wanted for a double homicide in Thomasville after following a man with a parole violation to a hotel room in Trevose, Pa. on Saturday afternoon.

Authorities said police located the couple at the Knights Inn on the 2600 block of Lincoln Highway.

When officers attempted to enter the motel room, they were fired upon but did not return fire, authorities said. The Bucks County South SWAT Team eventually entered the room and found Lloyd Franklin dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to officials.

Jennifer Lanning, who had been traveling with Franklin, was taken into police custody. Officials said the third person was identified as James Miller, a hitchhiker the couple picked up in Pennsylvania.

Franklin, 34, is wanted in the deaths of David McSwain, 82, and Joan McSwain, 78, in their Davidson County home.

Hours after the murder, police said Franklin used a gun stolen from the couple’s home to rob the CVS store at 1500 N. Sandhills Blvd. in Aberdeen.

Franklin is also the suspect in a robbery of the Rite Aid on East 10th Street in Roanoke Rapids on Tuesday.

Pennsylvania detectives are investigation and cooperating with North Carolina authorities. No further information has been released.
