— Police were searching Thursday for a man wanted on charges of domestic violence and probation violation.

Jeremy Anton Brown, 21, of Kent Lake Drive, is wanted for breaking his parole for an August 2005 conviction on armed robbery charges, police said. He faces fresh charges for assault on a female, injury to property and four counts of failure to appear in court.

Brown might be driving a brown and black 1990s Honda Accord station wagon, police said. They said he has been known to frequent areas around the 1600 block of Main Street, Lincoln Apartments on Lakeland Street and Lakemoor Apartments.

Brown was also given 12 months' probation in January after a conviction for willful or wanton injury to property.

Anyone with information about Brown's whereabouts was asked to call Investigator J.L. Hamilton at 919-560-4910 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.

What I never understood is how they can pay a reward and you don't have to tell them who you are? Our court system has failed the people.

Another case of probation not having accurate contact info on the probationer. Once he missed a court appearance his PO should have arrested him and brought him to jail until the judge could rule on the matter. But 4 missed court dates? He should have a million dollar warrant out for him. No he goes and attacks a woman? Add another million dollar warrant. This guy is trouble, has no respect for the law or for women - he needs a few good years at very hard labor to break him of his bad habits. Bet if you look far enough you will find out he has gang relations as well. Hope they catch him before he kills some innocent student in Durham or Chapel Hill.
