Man steals car in Durham, dies in crash

— Jarrod Alexander Carrington, 21, of Miriam Circle in Durha, died around 2 a.m. Tuesday after he stole a 1997 Lexus and crashed on U.S. Highway 15-501 at Hillsborough Road, according to Durham police.

Police say Carrington was speeding when he lost control on a curve, hit a guardrail, crossed the median and hit the concrete base of the highway sign.

Someone had reported the car stolen moments earlier from Roxboro Road and Club Boulevard, police said.

    Ouch, that had to hurt. Then again, stupid should hurt. I'm sorry that the victim lost his car and I hate that the guy died but he has no one to blame but himself.

    Well, it was a 1997 - 11 years old so it was likely paid off and worth squat in insurance money.
