Man sought in Chapel Hill bank robbery

One Tar Heels fan was on Franklin Street for the wrong reason Monday.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — One Tar Heels fan was on Franklin Street for the wrong reason Monday.

A man wearing a light blue ballcap with "Heels" on it robbed the Suntrust Bank branch at 126 W. Franklin St. at about 1:30 p.m., police said.

The man ordered a teller to hand over money, but he didn't display a weapon, police said.

Anyone who can identify the robber or who has information about the case can call 911, the Chapel Hill Police Department at 919-968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515.
