Man sought in attempted robbery at Durham bank

Durham police are looking for a man who tried to rob Yadkin Bank, at 115 E. Carver St., Wednesday afternoon.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police say a man in his late 50s or early 60s tried to rob a Durham bank Wednesday afternoon.

The attempted robbery at Yadkin Bank, at 115 E. Carver St., happened shortly before 3 p.m. when the man handed a teller a note demanding money.

He left without taking anything, police said, although they did not say why.

The man was black, had scruffy facial hair and was wearing a beige jacket with a fur collar, a blue hat, khaki pants and black shoes.
