Man shot in Raleigh

— A man was shot in southeast Raleigh early Friday, police said.

The shooting took place on Rawls Drive, off Poole Road, around 3:35 a.m.

The victim, whose name wasn't released, was taken to the hospital. An update on his condition wasn't available.

Police said they were still searching for the gunman.

    I know sections of more favorable parts of Raleigh where things like this happens...just for some "reason" don't see it in the media as much...hmmmn

    Don't agree that it has to do with the more dense population as much as the quality of life in those surrounding areas.

    There does seem to be a marked difference between SE raleigh inside the Beltline and outside the Beltline. The denser the population in the area, the more likely there will be crime.

    NO WAY!!! A shooting took place in Southeast Raleigh...and it was at 3:35 a.m. Here come all the haters that say "Southeast Raleigh is a great area with a strong neighborhood community!" Whatever.....crack sales are high in those neighborhoods as well!
