RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police were investigating a shooting Thursday night after a man reported that four men tried to rob him and then shot him.

The 29-year-old victim told police he was standing in a parking lot at 701 Bright Creek Way in Chavis Heights when the men came up to him, demanded money and shot him once in the stomach.

The man managed to drive himself downtown, where he flagged down a cab and went to WakeMed, police said. The victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries and was in stable condition early Friday.

Police did not have descriptions of the four men. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
