Man shot during Fayetteville home invasion

Fayetteville police said that four men armed with handguns forced open the front door of a home in the 900 block of Waterless Street at about 9:30 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One person was shot Monday night during a home invasion in Fayetteville.

Fayetteville police said that four men armed with handguns forced open the front door of a home in the 900 block of Waterless Street at about 9:30 p.m.

The men confronted 57-year-old Lonnie Jackson inside the home and shot him as they fled from the scene, police said.

The man, whose name was being withheld until family members could be notified, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition.
