Man Shot at Henderson Motel, Dies

— A man died after being shot at a Henderson motel over the weekend, police said.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at the Days Inn at 1052 Ruin Creek Road at about 4 a.m. Saturday and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was transported to Maria Parham Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said. His name hasn't been released, pending notification of relatives.

The shooting remains under investigation, police said.

    It depends on what part of Henderson you live...just like every city. Crime is everwhere. Drugs and crime are in every school and city you can't get away from it.......

    Having moved their in late 70's and leaving in 2003, I had no idea why I kept a low depression. I found out when I moved. It was the depressed town. If it won't for Kerr-Lake there would probably be no Henderson by now. When the factories started all shutting down, crime started growing and it's been growing ever since. I feel sorry for tourist that pick that motel on internet thinking it's as nice as some 8 Day Inns. There was a lot of drug activity that went on, not saying this is the case. Hope it wasn't some punk shooting a tourist.

    I lived in Henderson for 9 months and I couldn't wait to move. Too much crime.
