Apex police officer found the injured man on the 100 block of Peace Haven Place, which is in the West Haven Apartments complex.

Roney Demitri Hyman, of Raleigh, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The man was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.
