Man shoots brother in Clayton altercation

Officials said a man was arrested after he shot his brother early Tuesday morning during an altercation.

CLAYTON, N.C. — Officials said they arrested a man after he shot his brother Tuesday morning in an altercation in Clayton.

The Johnston County Sheriff's Office received a call around 1:30 a.m. of an altercation at 140 Hidden Acres Dr. When deputies arrived they found that Glenn McFadgen shot his brother during an altercation. McFadgen then took his mother's car.

Officials said McFadgen was later found and arrested in Selma.

The man who was shot was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but he is expected to live, according to the sheriff's office.

The victim's name has not been released.
