Man's Number Up as Illegal Lottery Tickets Seized
Halifax County deputies wound up collecting more tickets than they issued Tuesday after confiscating allegedly homemade lottery tickets during a traffic stop.
Posted — UpdatedTonicellis Marshall, 37, of Enfield, was charged with operating an illegal lottery and possessing illegal lottery tickets. He was released on an unsecured bond.
After the state Highway Patrol stopped a car for a traffic violation, the driver also was cited for having a suspended license.
Two Halifax County Sheriff's Office investigators stopped to assist as the citation was issued and found a backpack in the car that contained several homemade lottery tickets and more than $6, 800 in cash, authorities said.
