Man robs Raleigh bank, uses taxi as getaway car

A 62-year-old man was charged Tuesday evening after Raleigh police say he robbed the State Employees' Credit Union on Corporation Parkway in east Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 62-year-old man was charged Tuesday evening after Raleigh police say he robbed the State Employees' Credit Union on Corporation Parkway in east Raleigh.
According to investigators, Jimmy Seth Perry entered the branch about 2 p.m. Tuesday and passed a note demanding money to a teller. Perry got into a taxi and left the bank heading east on New Bern Avenue. 

Raleigh police notified Knightdale police, who tracked down Perry and detained him in a parking lot. He was charged with common law robbery.

Perry was in the Wake County jail Wednesday under a $50,000 secured bond.
