Man robs Fayetteville bank

Fayetteville police are seeking the public's help to identify a man who robbed a bank Friday evening.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are seeking the public's help to identify a man who robbed a bank Friday evening.

Police said a man walked into the Capital Bank, at 225 Green St., around 5:45 p.m. and handed the clerk a note demanding money and stating that he had a weapon. The clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, and he fled the bank on foot.

Police described the man as white, approximately 50 years old, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. He is described as having a medium build, gray hair with a receding hairline and a mustache. He was wearing a blue-and-white striped shirt and blue jeans.

Investigators said they believe the man is trying to leave the area. Anyone who sees him or has information about the bank robbery is asked to call Fayetteville police at 911 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
