RALEIGH, N.C. — Police on Wednesday took several people into custody after a man reported being robbed in a room at a hotel off Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh.

Employees at Extended Stay America, at 4810 Bluestone Drive, said the man – wearing only boxer shorts – ran into the hotel's office shortly before 8 a.m. and said two people – hiding in the bathroom of a room where he was meeting a prostitute – robbed him.

"I was going in to visit a girl that I met, and she went in – and I don't know, this dude came out of the bathroom and he had a gun," the man said in a 911 call released Wednesday afternoon.

"They got my money, my car keys. I ran out of the room. I was barely naked," he told the 911 dispatcher, adding that the two men and woman fled in a silver Oldsmobile Alero.

Police found a car matching the description at a BP station near Crabtree Valley Mall – about 1.5 miles from the hotel – and took several people in for questioning, a police spokeswoman said.

Investigators had not commented further on the case Wednesday morning, and it was not clear if anyone was arrested.
