Man missing from Cary group home
Authorities issued an alert late Saturday for a man who has gone missing from a Cary group home twice in less than a year.

David Anthony Johnson, 50, was last seen at the group home at 413 Normandy St. Because Johnson suffers from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, a Silver Alert was issued.
Johnson is described as a white man with brown hair and brown eyes. He is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was wearing a black leather jacket, light blue jeans and black shoes when he was last seen.
Anyone with information about Johnson’s whereabouts should call the Cary Police Department at 919-469-4012.
Johnson was also the subject of a Silver Alert last August when he disappeared from the same group home.
Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.
It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
