Fayetteville, N.C. — A man was killed and his female passenger injured early Sunday when their car ran off the road and struck a tree in Fayetteville, police said.
Richard Miramontes, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene. Contessa Pina, 27, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of injuries that police said weren't life-threatening.
No other cars were involved in the crash, which happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. on 71st School Road near Old Bunce Road.
