Fayetteville man charged after body found in trunk

Investigators have charged a 36-year-old Fayetteville man after a man was found dead inside of a vehicle truck Thursday evening, officials said Friday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Investigators have charged a 36-year-old Fayetteville man after a man was found dead inside of a vehicle truck Thursday evening, officials said Friday. 

John Jacob Sierra, of Halifax Drive, was charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. 

Officers were called to the area of Dodge Court and North Platte Road at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Samuel Federick III, who was reported missing by his family on Feb. 17 after he left his home on Grand Prix Drive, was found in the back of a vehicle was parked along the roadway, police said. 

No other information about Federick's death has been released. 

Sierra was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
