A man died Friday after swimming at the Brittany Apartments pool in Burlington, police said. 

<b>BURLINGTON, N.C.</b> — A man died Friday after swimming at the Brittany Apartments pool in Burlington, police said. 

Burlington police, fire and Alamance County EMS responded to 706 Huffman Mill Road to a report of a drowning. When officials arrived they discovered 26-year-old Catarina Vasquez Ruiz unresponsive beside the pool. 

CPR was being performed by witnesses and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. 

Police have interviewed several eyewitnesses and believe this incident was an accidental drowning.
