Man dies after Mebane hit-and-run
A Mebane man died Monday, one day after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street, police said Tuesday.

MEBANE, N.C. — A Mebane man died Monday, one day after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street, police said Tuesday.
Christopher Scott Askey 23, was hit near the intersection of North Third and West Center streets shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.
Police are still trying to determine the make and model of the vehicle that hit him, based on evidence from the scene.
