A 29-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot in a Fayetteville street early Saturday, police said.

<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — A 29-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot in a Fayetteville street early Saturday, police said.

Armendariz Evans was shot by an unknown person while standing in the 800 block of Stoneykirk Drive around 5:40 a.m., police said.

He was driven by personal vehicle to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about any potential suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that solve cases.
