Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested one of two men they say were in a car that struck a police sergeant outside a nightclub early Saturday in attempt to avoid authorities.
Police said that Antonio Jermaine Clark, 25, was in a Dodge Charger whose driver sped away after intentionally backing into Sgt. Palczak, who was outside of his vehicle at Club Dolce on North West Street. Palczak was not injured.
Clark was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, speeding to elude arrest and hit and run. He was also served with outstanding warrants for first-degree burglary, communicating threats and failure to appear in court.
Police said the other suspect, whose name wasn't released, also has outstanding warrants. Police are still searching for him.
Clark has 16 convictions from the past nine years, including four counts of assault on a female, speeding to elude arrest and felony possession with intent to sell, according to state Department of Correction records. He has served four terms in jail totaling 14 months.
