Man charged with first-degree murder in Nash County stabbing

A man was charged Monday with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing last week in Nash County.

NASHVILLE, N.C. — A man was charged Monday with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing last week in Nash County.

Deputies responded to the 7900 block of Edwards Road in Nashville at about 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 and found Danny McCalston with multiple stab wounds.

McCalston was pronounced dead at the scene.

Joseph Anstead was charged Monday in connection with McCalston’s death and was being held without bond at the Nash County Jail.

Anstead is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
