— A Raleigh man has been charged with setting fire to his Raleigh apartment.

Police arrested Robert Lee Utley, Jr., 37, of 1319 Kent Road, on Monday. He is charged with first-degree arson.

The fire started around 5 a.m. Friday at the Trees and Leaves Apartments. Four apartments were destroyed, and three others were damaged by smoke. Twelve people were displaced.

One person was injured after jumping from a window. A firefighter also hurt his wrist when he fell, authorities said.

A source said the fire was the result of an argument between a married couple and that a 5-gallon can of gasoline was found at the scene, but police have not commented further on the case.

Utley is free on bond.

only someone who lets the gov't pay for his existance would even consider burning his own home.

Why is this not considered attempted murder or assault with a deadly weapon? He set fire to the apartment, and all 12 of those people could have died.....

Obviously thought through, using a 5 gallon container of gas.

Yet he is Free on bond?
