Man charged in southeast Raleigh shooting

The Raleigh Police Department's fugitive task force arrested a man Monday evening in connection with a shooting in southeast Raleigh early Sunday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Raleigh Police Department's fugitive task force arrested a man Monday evening in connection with a shooting in southeast Raleigh early Sunday.

Curtis Stuart Scarborough, 23, was charged with attempted murder and placed in the Wake County jail under a $700,000 bond.

Police say he shot Tony Curtis Stephens Jr., shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday in the area off Pearl Road near Rock Quarry Road.

Stephens was listed in critical condition at WakeMed Tuesday morning.
