Man charged in Raleigh murder

Raleigh police charged a man with murder Friday night after the body of a 23-year-old man was found inside a home on Merriweather Circle.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police charged a man with murder Friday night after the body of a 23-year-old man was found inside a home on Merriweather Circle.

Officers responded to 8234 Merriweather Circle shortly before 7 p.m. and found Kelvin Troydon Williams Jr., 23, dead inside.

A short time later, police detained David John Lewis III, 23, of the same address, for questioning. He was subsequently charged with murder and taken to the Wake County jail, where he was being held without bond Saturday.

Lewis is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

The crime was not random, police said. No other information was released.
