Man charged in Raleigh homicide

Police on Friday arrested a man in connection with a Thursday shooting death in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police on Friday arrested a man in connection with a Thursday shooting death in Raleigh.

Jerome Harris, 37, of 7325 Bryan Akins Way, Raleigh, was taken into custody in the 1900 block of Summerdale Road.

Corey Lamont Jackson, 35, was found shot in an apartment at 4549 Hargrove Road and died at WakeMed, police said.

Investigators said the two men knew each other and that the shooting wasn't a random act. No other details about the crime, such as a possible motive, were released.

The shooting remains under investigation.
