HENDERSON, N.C. — A Henderson man was charged Wednesday in a weekend shooting that left one dead and two wounded, police said.

Patrick Lebraska McLeod, 22, of 515 Davis St., was charged with second-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by a felon and felony inciting a riot. He was being held in the Vance County Jail under a $205,000 bond.

Hassan Terry, 19, of Henderson, was killed Saturday night in a shooting in the 500 block of Lone Street, police said.

A 9-year-old boy was shot twice in the incident and was in intensive care at Duke University Hospital. A 20-year-old man who also was shot was treated at Maria Parham Hospital and released.

Terry’s mother, Brenda Harris, said the shooting occurred during a celebration honoring her late son, Raymond Dunn, who died after collapsing during a basketball game at Vance Granville Community College in February.

Police didn't release details about a possible motive in the shootings or what information led to McLeod's arrest.
