Man charged in Chapel Hill business break-ins

Chapel Hill police arrested a 33-year-old man Thursday in connection with some early morning break-ins at businesses in the Market Street area of Southern Village.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police arrested a 33-year-old man Thursday in connection with some early morning break-ins at businesses in the Market Street area of Southern Village.

Caleb Hopkirk-Ridlen Hill is charged with:

  • One felony count of attempted breaking or entering a building
  • Three felony counts of larceny after breaking/entering
  • Four felony counts of breaking and/or entering
  • Five misdemeanor counts of injury to real property

Hill was taken to the Orange County Jail, where he was held under a $25,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to have a first court appearance in Hillsborough on Friday.
