Man, 68, shot during Fayetteville home invasion

A 68-year-old man was shot early Tuesday during a home invasion in the 200 block of Hawthorne Road, Fayetteville police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 68-year-old man was shot early Tuesday during a home invasion in the 200 block of Hawthorne Road, Fayetteville police said. 

Officers responding to the home about 12:30 a.m. found the man with a gunshot wound to his side. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, and police said he was in surgery early Tuesday. 

The man's name was not released. 

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information in the shooting should call the Fayetteville Police Department.
