Louisburg crash claims one life

Posted July 9, 2008

— A Louisburg man died Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Timberlake Road near N.C. Highway 56, the Highway Patrol said.

Larry Hendrix, 56, died when the vehicle he was driving crossed the center line, ran off the side of the road and struck a tree, police said. He was the only person in the car.

Hendrix was wearing a seatbelt. Police said speed and alcohol were not factors in the wreck. There is no indication on what may have caused the accident.

The crash occurred about 8:30 a.m., troopers said.

Hey, I've a simple solution to the first two posts; "if you don't approve of WRAL's reporting process on the incident in Louisburg, (try and keep up here) then DON'T READ IT."

Right there with you, haditup2here. I've been freaking out ever since I saw the story posted, praying it's not someone close to me that I know, who drives a white pickup truck.

It really gripes me when WRAL puts 4 sentence stories like this out there before they have any REAL information about the deceased to offer. It only serves to worry people sick (self included) who have loved ones who drive white pickup trucks and then can't reach them by cell phone. WRAL, how about holding off on stories like this, at least until you can report that the relatives HAVE been notified, ok? A little compassion is called for here, don't you think?
