Littleton man charged with trying to strangle another man

Deputies said that Edward Kinta Settles got into an altercation with Frank Mills at a local pool hall and then a physical fight later in the day. Settles grabbed Mills by the neck until he passed out, deputies said.

Settle was charged with one count of felony strangulation. He was placed in the Halifax County Jail under a $1,000 secured bond. His first court date was set for Dec. 2.
