GRANVILLE COUNTY, N.C. — A Granville County woman escaped her burning home after a lightning strike set it on fire.

Her two-story log cabin off Lake Hart Trail in Brassfield went up in flames early Saturday.

Five fire departments responded to the house fire. Firefighters said it took seven hours and 200,000 gallons of water to put out the blaze.

The house was destroyed.

The woman, whose name was not released, is staying with relatives while the Red Cross finds her temporary housing. She was not injured.
