Lejuene Marine dies in Afghanistan
A Marine from South Carolina, serving in Afghanistan and based at Camp Lejeune, died Thursday, the Department of Defense announced.

A Marine from South Carolina, serving in Afghanistan and based at Camp Lejeune, died Thursday, the Department of Defense announced.
Lance Cpl. Christopher S. Fowlkes, 20, of Gaffney, S.C., died from wounds sustained Sept. 3 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province. He was assigned to 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Lejeune.
