Laurinburg store clerk shot to death

A convenience store clerk was shot to death in Laurinburg Tuesday evening, police said.

LAURINBURG, N.C. — A convenience store clerk was shot to death in Laurinburg Tuesday evening, police said.

Lt. Kim Monroe said that officers investigating reports of suspicious activity around 8 p.m. found Yasin Geedi lying on the ground behind the #1 Stop store at North Main Street and Produce Market Road.

She said Geedi, of Laurinburg, had been shot multiple times in the upper body. He was taken to Scotland Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Geedi appears to have closed the store and been on his way home when he was shot, Monroe said.

No arrests have been made.
