KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — Kiara Black's family and friends spent Thursday plastering her picture on fliers and on Facebook in hopes someone knows where she is.

Black's mother reported her missing after the 15-year-old failed to return from a run Wednesday afternoon. The Wake County Sheriff's Office said Black is a missing person who may be in some form of danger.

"I don't think she's deliberately out there trying to make us all worry. She loves her brother. She loves her mother. She loves her grandma. She loves her sister. She loves all of us. She's not going to just up and leave," said Black's friend Jen Preston.

Leslie Black said she is close with her daughter but, like all mothers and daughters, they have had spats. Several months ago, after an argument, Kiara went to stay with a friend, but her mother said that only lasted about 12 hours. Since then, they have been rebuilding their relationship. "We were so close now," Leslie Black said.

Leslie Black said her daughter's Facebook account does not give any clues about anyone she could be with. "She's out there somewhere," she said. "She's out there needing me, and I can't find her."

Anyone with information about Kiara Black is asked to call the Wake County Sheriff's Office at 919-856-6900. She has long, brown hair and brown eyes. She is about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds. She was last seen wearing a teal shirt with gray letters and blue and black checked sweatpants.
