Kid-friendly destinations are open with normal hours ... right now
The general line I'm hearing from museums is that they are opening as usual this morning, but could close early.

Making a wild assumption that we may be essentially house and snow-covered-hill-bound over the next day or more, we'll be getting out of the house this morning before the weather begins to hit.
It looks like most of the popular destinations are open with their regular hours as I write this at this very moment. But they could make a decision to close early later on. So, before you head out, be sure to check before you go.
Marbles Kids Museum's usual hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences and the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh is usually open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The N.C. Museum of Art's hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Raleigh.
The Museum of Life and Science in Durham is typically open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Kidzu Children's Museum in Chapel Hill is closed through mid-February as it makes its move to University Mall.
Also ... just in case you had the fleeting thought of heading over to the N.C. Zoo in Asheboro today, it's closed.
