Kenly woman charged after false kidnapping claim

Posted February 3, 2012

— Wilson County sheriff's investigators have charged a woman with one count of giving a false police report after, they say, she told them she had been kidnapped.

Authorities said Kimberly Jo Boyette, 33, of 8007 Eunice Court in Kenly, called a friend Thursday afternoon saying that her estranged husband abducted her and that she and her children's lives were in danger.

As deputies searched near Dunn and areas in Wilson and Johnston counties for Boyette, she called them to tell them she was on her way back.

Detectives charged Boyette after they determined she wasn't being truthful about the account, they said.

She was in the Wilson County jail under a $2,500 bond Friday morning.

Con, it doesn't matter WHO called the police, only that they were called because SHE told this crazy lie to her friend who took it at face value, as many of us would.

""Authorities said Kimberly Jo Boyette, 33, of 8007 Eunice Court in Kenly, called a FRIEND Thursday afternoon saying that her estranged husband abducted her""

.. Umm, When did she also call the police?? Or DID she even call the police?? Did the friend call the police? Why was this lady charged IF she wasnt the one who called the police??? As this story is printed, i'm thinking she told a lie to her friend, who then turned around and got the polce involved.

What was her motive behind all of this? There are many young ladies that are actually kidnapped and this lady want to joke about being kidnapped. Yes, she should have been charged.

scubagirl - that's right. Make her work weekends in jail and take the pay.

I agree make her pay and charge her.. She knew better and she deserves the punishment.. I couldn't imagine being that in need for attention to risk getting in trouble with the law..
