RALEIGH, N.C. — A Wake County jury on Tuesday found a Raleigh man guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of a pizza parlor owner just over two years ago.

William Damieon Edwards was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the May 19, 2011, shooting death of Jay Waheed Ammeri at the NY Style Pizza restaurant on Louisburg Road.

Prosecutors presented evidence in the weeklong trial that Edwards' wife, who worked at a nail salon in the same shopping center, and Ammeri had an affair approximately 10 months before the shooting.
