BENSON, N.C. — A Johnston County woman led authorities on a chase through two counties early Thursday.

Deputies responded to a call after Nancy Chambers’ house on Patterdale Place in Benson caught fire. They realized there were four warrants for her arrest, officials said.

Chambers took off in a truck, and deputies chased her into Wake County, where Raleigh and Garner police helped. Officers threw out stop-sticks to puncture the truck's tires, and the chase ended on Hammond Road in Garner.

Authorities took Chambers to the Johnston County Jail. The cause of the house fire was under investigation.

Warrants accused Chambers of assault on a child under 12, second-degree trespassing, assault by pointing a gun and communicating threats. Additional charges were pending, including felony fleeing to elude arrest and various traffic violations.
