FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Three job fairs and hiring programs are scheduled in Fayetteville and Fort Bragg in the coming weeks.

The 13th annual March to Work Job Fair is scheduled for March 26 at the Crown Expo Center. The free fair draws up to 100 businesses and 3,500 people. The fair will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to the public.

For more information, call Robert Relyea, director of the Cumberland County Department of Social Services Work First program, at 910-677-2222.

Fort Bragg ACAP Center and Futures Inc. will host a hiring program March 26 at the Fort Bragg Club. About 150 registered clients, both veterans and retirees, will be matched with jobs and employers based on their skills and interests.

The event, which is not open to walk-ins, will feature about 22 employers. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 a.m.

The Hiring Our Heroes job fair will be held March 28, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Crown Center.

The program is promoted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and is for veterans, active-duty military, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses.

"Every time we come (to Fayetteville), we get good response," said Kim Morton, a spokeswoman for Hiring Our Heroes. "People leave with conditional offers."

The hiring event is free for employers and job-seekers. As of Monday, 65 employers were registered, with that number expected to increase to 80, she said.

Job seekers should register at hoh.greatjob.net to guarantee admission. Walk-ins are welcome, but space is limited.

The Hiring Our Heroes initiative has conducted more than 430 hiring fairs across the country in the last two years.
