A Jack Britt High School senior left his graduation ceremony without his robe and without a diploma Wednesday night, after he stripped to his underwear as he crossed the stage.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Jack Britt High School senior left his graduation ceremony without his robe and without a diploma Wednesday night, after he stripped to his underwear as he crossed the stage.
Quinton Murphy yanked off his robe to display his leopard-print briefs, then struck a pose for the gasping, laughing crowd.
Police officers escorted him from the ceremony without his diploma, and school leaders said he'd be banned from school property in the future.
While the school system can't keep Murphy from graduating – his transcript will show that accomplishment – it can withhold the diploma as a symbolic gesture.
