Investigators want to interview Franklin Co. teen mom
An 8.5 pound baby girl was placed inside a grocery bag and buried in a shallow grave behind a residence in the Fox Ridge Farms subdivision, located near Louisburg, on Sunday, authorities said.

Sheriff Jerry Jones said the teen mother, who apparently delivered Sunday night at her parents' home in the Fox Ridge Farms subdivision, had been released from the hospital by Tuesday morning and could "shed some light on things."
Deputies found an 8.5-pound baby girl inside a grocery bag, buried in a shallow grave behind the home, Jones said.
They were asking questions Tuesday about the pregnancy and its outcome. Most importantly, Jones said, is a report from the medical examiner which will determine whether the baby was carried to term and was born alive.
A preliminary report showed no apparent injuries to the baby.
No charges have been filed in the case.
"Our investigation led us to believe that more people than we once thought knew about this pregnancy," Jones said. "We think the father had at least told a couple of friends about the pregnancy, and so our interview base has expanded a little bit.
"If things go the way our investigation is leading us, it could become a death investigation," he said.
